Installation · An optional extra

Fitting, if you would like us to.

Installation is not part of the standard price. Most of what we make is supplied to the customer or their builder to fit. But if you would rather the people who made your joinery also put it in, we can — quoted separately, on top of the units themselves.

Two ways to have them fitted

Supply only

Your own builder fits them

This is how most of our joinery leaves the workshop. You receive the units finished and glazed, with a drawing of each one and the sizes clearly marked, ready for whoever is doing your building work. Nothing extra to pay.

Optional extra

We fit them for you

Our own fitters take out the old frames, set the new ones true, seal and bead them and adjust every catch. Priced separately once we know the number of openings and what is involved.

What the service covers

01

Careful removal

Old frames come out one opening at a time. The building is never left open overnight, and dust sheets go down before anything else happens.

02

Set true and sealed

Each unit is packed, levelled and fixed properly, then sealed and beaded inside and out so it performs as it was built to.

03

Cleared and adjusted

Old frames, glass and packaging go with us the same day. We walk the job with you, adjust every hinge and catch and hand over the care notes.

Optional extra

On the day, if we are fitting

  • Arrival between 8am and 9am, with a call the evening before
  • Floors and furniture protected before any tool comes out
  • One opening worked at a time — the house stays secure and weathertight
  • Existing frames, glass and packaging removed and recycled by us
  • Site swept and cleared each evening
  • Fitters employed by the workshop, not subcontracted

Getting the sizes right

Measuring is your choice too

No charge

Send us your own measurements

Take the width and height of each opening at three points, send them with a photograph, and we will draw and price from those. We will tell you if anything looks wrong before we cut.

Optional extra

We measure for you

A chargeable survey where we visit and take every opening ourselves, and look at the lintel, reveal and sub-frame. Sensible on period, listed or awkward openings.

Compliance

The paperwork

Building Regs

Replacement windows and doors must meet Part L and Part F. Where we carry out the installation we certify the work and give you the documentation. Where someone else fits them, that certification is their responsibility.

Listed & conservation

We have made joinery for listed buildings and conservation areas across Cheshire, and can supply drawings and sections for your planning application.

Insurance

Fully insured for public liability, with all fitters directly employed by the workshop.

Aftercare

Timber that is looked after lasts generations

Your first five years

Factory-sprayed finishes need nothing but a wash with warm soapy water twice a year, and a check of the seals. Written care notes come with every order.

After that

A light re-coat every eight to ten years on painted work, sooner on south and west elevations. We can quote for the re-coat, or tell you how to do it yourself.

Want a price with fitting included?

Send us your measurements and say you would like the fitting quoted as well. We will price both, and you can decide either way.
